Step into Fall Color with Wella Micro Root
Wella Color Expert Annet Svensson shares the latest technique from Wella Professionals House of Tone Advanced Toning, The Micro Root. This is Annet’s go-to to enhance highlights – it’s the perfect service if you want to add soft shadow and natural depth. The Micro Root is a technique that can be added to your traditional highlight service and absolutely justifies a higher service charge. Ideal for fall, the Micro Root can make highlights look more natural and often makes hair look fuller.
The Micro Root can be simply one level darker than your toning shade to add subtle dimension or up to three level darker for a more rooted effect. It is also a great way to mask or correct lines or marks at the scalp from a foil application. With a Micro Root, ideally lines from foil should not be visible.
How To:
- Dip the tip of your color brush only in your shadow formula.
- Gently place the minimum amount of product at the root area and tap gently with your finger.
- Do not brush or spread with a downward motion.
- Once you have applied your root tap, apply your toner to the lengths and ends without merging the two formulas.
