What is the most meaningful part of your role as an Asian American Pacific Islander artist in beauty?
Being able to translate and teach my community the meaning of different nail art and forms of applications. I learn things differently, so for me to understand it must make sense. I use my form of learning to teach and empower others.
What is your favorite OPI shade?
Love is in the Bare – I usually put this on with a French or pair it up with Bubble Bath. It’s a beautiful combination.
Do you have any advice for AAPI stylists trying to grow their career?
Just take it slow. Don’t be pressure by the social media that you must grow fast. Learn and grow organically. Have fun while doing so. Don’t forget to snap a picture of all your artistic work. Take it from me there were so many years I didn’t do so and regretted it. Also, there’s so much opportunity to learn on the web and classes to take to take you to the next level, take advantage of that whereas when I grew up learning these things, there were only trade shows. Which I didn’t attend as much.
