Shimmer Melt Glaze with Wella Professionals Signature Artist Carrera Alvarez
Wella Signature Artist Carrera Alvarez takes us through the SHINEFINITY Shimmer Melt Glaze trial kit packed full of everything you need to create a beautiful color melt with natural dimension and shine. Co-Created by Wella Professionals Ambassador Patricia Nikole @PaintedHair this new salon technique allows clients to experience the benefits of dimensional true-to-tone long lasting color with zero damage.
SECTION:
Carrera begins by sectioning the hair in three horizontal sections through the back.
HAND PAINTED DIMENSION:
Lightener: 30g BlondorPlex + 45g Welloxon 20 volume
Starting with the section closest to the nape area she surface paints using a soft tease at the root for a soft natural blend. When moving to the sides, Carrera takes horizontal sections transitioning to using a weaving technique and recommends a heavy textured weave while lightly backcombing each section to give a natural blend while maintaining dimension.
Root Melt: 10g 04/7 + 10g 00/00 + 20g Bowl & Brush Activator
Mid lengths and Ends: 30g 09/73 + 10g 04/07 + 40g Bottle Activator
Once she achieved her desired lift she uses SHINEFINITY to create the Shimmer Melt Glaze. SHINEFINITY is ideal for glazing services because of its translucent color zero lift and zero damage benefits. It’s the perfect choice for creating a seamless color melt. Once Carrera applies the darker root formula, she melts her lighter formula through the rest of the hair. When doing this, Carrera recommends using the SHINEFINITY bottle activator. This unique formula makes it so easy to apply the mid length. This technique is a great time saver for the busy stylist in the salon. SHINEFINITY’S balanced pH technology makes a color application so effortless it glides through the hair beautifully and ensures proper saturation even on long thick hair. Carrera lets the Shimmer Melt glaze formula to process for 15 minutes.
