Discover industry secrets and PROTIPS from your favorite salon professionals. This week we spotlight Wella Professionals Signature Artist, Carrera Alvarez @carreraa.wella. Carrera began her career as a colorist at Vidal Sassoon where she quickly found her passion for education, focusing on color craft. For twenty-one years, her career has guided her through many paths in the industry: working behind the chair, as a celebrity colorist, cosmetology director and Wella Color Master. Carrera works with stylists throughout the western states to support their continued technical skill development, while teaching them how to retain and grow their existing businesses. Her wealth of knowledge and passion for teaching has earned her the honor of Wella Professionals Trainer of the year in 2017 and 2021. She is based in Southern California.
WHAT is your favorite Wella Company STYLING product? My favorite Wella Company styling product is Nioxin Professional Diamax Advanced.
WHY is it your favorite? I love the volume and body the product gives me.
HOW do you like to use it? After my daily Nioxin cleansing routine, I spray the Diamax Advanced throughout my roots and mid-lengths. The product plumps up each hair strand, giving me long lasting body.
WHAT is your favorite Wella Company HAIRCOLOR product (overall line, family or specific shade)? My all time favorite Wella Company haicolor line is Wella Professionals Illumina Color.
WHY is it your favorite? Illumina Color is my favorite color line because of the diversity of use within the portfolio.
HOW do you like to use it? I use the Illumina Color portfolio to cover gray allowing for natural, modern, color coverage. I LOVE toning with Illumina Color too. The available shade range gives beautiful creamy reflective blonde tones.
WHAT is your favorite Wella Company HAIRCARE product? My favorite Wella Company haircare product is Nioxin System Kit #3, Minoxidil and Night Density Rescue.
WHY is it your favorite? Personal hair loss has been something I have dealt with as a result from stress and Covid. The Nioxin System Kit in combination with the Minoxidil and Night Density Rescue has been a huge support to not only grow my hair back but also to maintain my hair and take care of my scalp.
HOW do you like to use it? I cleanse and treat my hair and scalp with the Nioxin System Kit #3. Next, I apply the Minoxidil daily to the areas of hair loss concern. Right before bed I apply the Night Density Rescue to my entire scalp. Super simple!
